Review: Bee Luscious Spring/Summer 2010 Palette

Before I get onto the review, I just wanted to share a coupon code with you! Bee Royal are currently offering a massive 50% discount on all Bee Luscious products until August 7th. Make sure you're logged in and use the code: backtoschool (all lower case).

Since these palettes are $79.95, the 50% off makes it a pretty good deal!

The Spring/Summer 2010 palette is the latest offering in the seasonal palette range from Bee Royal. I think the colours would be more suited to a Winter/Fall palette though. The purples and browns remind me of the Fall 2009 palette.

This palette contains 16 eye shadow shades in a variety of finishes, two blushers and 4 of the new LipToxyl cream lipsticks.

There are four finishes of shadows in this palette:
-Sheer Satin - sheer colour, satin finish
-Polychromatic - prismatic mix of metallic & pearlized pigments
-Mineral - soft, shimmering colour
-Dimensional - layered matte & pearl pigments

Most of the shadows are of the Polychromatic finish and are generally richly pigmented (one or two are on the more sheer side). The
Sheer Satin shadows aren't sheer at all! You'll see from the swatches that they're quite pigmented. The Dimensional shadows are a bit of a nightmare to use. They're pretty matte with sparkles mixed in which blend away the minute you try and blend the shadow.

All but one of the shadows are very smooth ("Amber Gold" just feels gritty) and most are quite pigmented, a couple of shades are sheerer than others. Some of the more metallic looking shades feel quite creamy. They last well on me all day over a primer. I haven't tried them over Pixie Epoxy yet, but I'm thinking they'll look amazing!

The lip colours have a very minty scent which has slowly worn off. It's not as strong as when I first opened the palette. I was honestly a little weary about having mint scented lip products in a palette next to eye shadow shades but I've not noticed any irritation issues from this. The lip colours are very pigmented, as you'll see from the swatches, but none of them are really shades that I'd wear.

Both blushers are strongly pigmented and come complete with golden shimmer. Use a very light hand with "Garden"!

-Mirror Mirror - cream base with an icy blue shimmer
-Coco Mousse - lovely chocolaty shimmer
