Review: BeautyUK Eye Shadow Collection "06"

I recently got to try out a couple of BeautyUK items, and I've finally got round to writing up this review! I've had the pictures ready for a while. I've already reviewed the mascara.

BeautyUK is a budget brand that's has part of the range available in Superdrug. I've got to admit that I haven't paid that much attention to the stand, I'm usually distracted by Sleek MakeUp! The range is far more extensive than I had realised and I think it deserves further investigation!

There are 6 of these eye shadow collections available (this one is called Day & Night on the website) for £3.99 each.

You get 10 shades in the palette, this one ranges from a shimmery white to deep browns and black. There seems to be a bit of a mix in textures, they are mostly shimmers with a couple of mattes. The colour range is pretty good, you're going to be able to create a few fun looks with this and you've even got a couple of highlighter shades and a couple of really deep shades that you can use as liner.

Most of the shades in this palette have pretty good pigmentation. The lightest pink on the top row was very sheer though, but it might be worth trying that as a blush. As expected, the darkest shades swatched the best, the lightest needed a few layers to look as they did in the pan. The purple on the bottom row needed a few layers as well and pulled a little grey on me when I wore it in a look.

I immediately had to try out that spring green on the top row, however it was quite disappointing! I couldn't get it to go on that well and it looked a little patchy. I didn't want to apply too much as it was beginning to look a little chalky. The deep brown I used for the crease blended very well but the green tended to blend away. I'm quite impressed at the depth of the black when used as a liner, I applied it with a damp angled liner brush. Quite a useful colour to have in there. Finally, I used the shimmery white as a highlight. Fortunately, it isn't too pigmented so it doesn't come off as frosty!

Overall, this palette is a bit of a mixed bag. I think I'd definitely recommend it to someone who is just starting to explore colour, it'll be a fun one to use!
