NCAA Games picks SM MOA Arena for 2012
Here's a surprising news if you wanna know more about NCAA and the upcoming state of the art stadium that is now being built in SM Mall of Asia. Last week in a press conference by the The National Collegiate Athletics Association or NCAA, just announced that their new home for the 88th Season for 2012 will be at SM Mall of Asia ARENA. (more news below)
The news was announced by Mall of Asia Arena, Fr. Vic Calvo, Athletic Moderator for Colegio San Juan de Letran, the main host school for the coming season for 2012 NCAA Games. They also announced that the 2011 NCAA Game tickets will now be carried and exclusively distributed bby SM Tickets, the 2011 games will be held in their San Juan Arena.
According to the info that I received the SM Mall of Asia Arena will be the our country's premiere venue that can accommodate 20,000 people and it will be the preferred venue for sports and entertainment, the big grand launch and opening is now stated for May 2012.
my comments.
hmmm. the Arena looks more bigger than Araneta Coliseum, accdg. to Wiki that the Araneta Coliseum can only accommodate 15,500 people for a basketball set up and 16,000 for concert set up and that's versus to SM MOA Arena's 20,000 capacity for basketball. I'm now curious what kind of state of the art tech they will use for Arena, let's all wait for 2012 for the big opening.
