New revolutionary social app experience with BBM 6
Here’s a news from RIM as they announces the release of BBM 6, this is for my readers who are BlackBerry users, check the updates here and see how this can connect and interact you from within the BBM connected apps. Check out also some good reviews about BBM 6. I know you want it, especially the FourSquare app for your BB.
- press release -
Waterloo, ON - BBM™ (BlackBerry® Messenger), one of the largest mobile social networks in the world is now enabling a new and revolutionary social experience. Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the availability of BBM version 6 (BBM 6), which provides support for "BBM connected" apps, allowing users to easily interact with each other from within the BBM connected app.
BBM connected apps integrate the popular functionality of the BBM service and offer users the ability to interact with their friends from within the app itself. For example, with a BBM connected game app, users can invite their BBM friends to join them in a game and then chat with one another in real time while the game is being played – without ever leaving the game app.
BBM 6 launches today and a selection of BBM connected apps are already available on BlackBerry App World™.
“BBM 6 marks the beginning of an even greater social experience for BlackBerry smartphone users,” said Alistair Mitchell, VP, BBM Platform & Integrated Services at Research In Motion. “It also represents an incredible opportunity for developers to leverage the viral nature of the BBM service and we have already begun working with various developer partners who will be bringing their BBM connected apps to BlackBerry App World this week, offering users highly engaging app experiences.”
Some of the additional functionality users can expect to see with BBM connected applications include the ability to:
· Share app experiences with friends - When a user discovers a great new BBM connected app, they can instantly let their friends know about it. Users can simply select a BBM contact directly within the BBM connected app they are using.
· Have a BBM chat within apps - Users can simply pull up their BBM contact list directly from within the BBM connected app and start chatting. For example, the functionality can enable everything from enhanced social game play to collaboration through productivity apps.
· Discover apps through friends – Users can also discover new apps by viewing the list of apps that are posted to a BBM friend’s profile. They can also click on an app within the list, and instantly download it from BlackBerry App World.
The BBM 6 software will be available later today at www.blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger. A selection of BBM connected apps will also be posted on BlackBerry App World this week, with many more expected over the coming months.

We work hard to integrate our application with popular and useful platforms like BBM, to ensure added value to users who can now add location information to their interactions with friends."- (Telemap)

Daniel Craig as a cowboy Jake Lonergan in Cowboys and Aliens movie
Daniel Craig shares his excitement and experience as a cowboy for the movie "Cowboys and Aliens",this shows that Daniel can fit into different roles even that he is not a true blue American cowboy but can still be fit to be one that can fight aliens in the old west as Jake Lonergan. I feel excited to see this film, I love sci movies blended with the old west and this is the first time I'll see a movie with lots of technology and weird alien fighting style during the 1800s. We can also see if Daniel Craig can be more a cowboy than a Bond.
more story below
- press release-
While action star Daniel Craig may not be the first person one considers when the words “American cowboy” come to mind, director Jon Favreau, who transformed Robert Downey Jr. into a superhero in Iron Man, has a knack for inspired casting. He saw something both familiar and iconic in the British native that would fit the character of Jake Lonergan, the lone, amnesiac stranger who wanders into the former boomtown of Absolution just in time to save it from total annihilation.
“He was the first cast member we brought on,” explains the director. “I realized in talking with him and looking at him that he has this gruff, handsome, Steve McQueen-type quality.” Rugged good looks notwithstanding, Craig has a gift for conveying much with few words. “The language of the Western is about action, not dialogue,” says Favreau. “I usually have a fire hose of dialogue to use in my films, but here you have to make the action the dialogue, whether it’s the gunfights or hand-to-hand combat. That’s all part of Jake’s personality, and Daniel is able to carry that off really well. He says a lot with his actions. You see when his wheels are turning and he’s up against everything.”
A longtime fan of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, as well as Alien and Blade Runner, Craig didn’t feel as if it would be a big leap to bring these genres together. Admitting that he “based his character very much on the silence of Clint Eastwood,” Craig prepared for the part by seeing as many Westerns as he could. The actor says, “I watched a lot of John Wayne Westerns, but my favorite ones are the ones from the ’70s—movies like Little Big Man and those so-called dirty Westerns where there’s a little more reality.”
When it came time to get into character, Craig offers that it was much easier to become Jake Lonergan than other roles that he tackled. He says, “The cowboy just comes out. We are in a desert, and I’m wearing chaps. I’m wearing a gun around my waist, I’ve got cowboy boots on and a hat and I’m riding a horse. I rode on a horse every day and I got paid to do it, so I couldn’t have been happier.”
Is the situation feasible? Craig believes that 19th-century settlers and Indians would be hardy enough to handle creatures from another world. He notes: “The idea is that survival kicks in. These people are very tough. They’re frontier people, and we’ve got American Indian tribesmen who are a tough breed who have survived the outside world and all that Mother Nature has to throw at them.”
The multitalented actor received a BAFTA nomination and an Empire Award for Casino Royale, his James Bond debut, which became the highest-grossing film in the history of the 007 franchise.
Born in 1968 in Chester and raised near Liverpool, Craig was first introduced to theater at the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatres. When he reached his late teens, he moved to London to join the National Youth Theatre, before continuing his training at the London Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Craig has since secured eclectic roles in television, theater and film, and is now regarded as one of Britain’s finest actors.
Cowboys & Aliens marks Craig’s third collaboration with film producer Steven Spielberg, following their work on the Oscar®-nominated Munich and the upcoming Spielberg-directed and Peter Jackson-produced adaptation of one of the world’s most beloved comic books, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, in which he plays Red Rackham. He also stars alongside Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts in Universal Pictures’ upcoming film Dream House, a tense thriller directed by multi-award-winning Jim Sheridan.
“Cowboys and Aliens ” is released and distributed by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corp.

Why Everybody Loves Gardenia
by Daomisyel of Glamour Moments
No exemption! Admit it or not, everybody loves bread! you can substitute or accompany it with any meals or snacks you've wanted. From traditional loaf to other variants, breads are always present in supermarkets, convenience stores and restaurants. Quoting from what I've read online, they said the color of bread indicated a person's social status. The lighter the bread, the higher the status. Oh well, now we knew why some breads we couldn't afford but somehow see similar breads on store that has the same flavor. Thousand years ago, we knew that the whole bread was made from flour and water like a tortilla until Egyptians added yeast to the dough.
Baking Evolution
Consumers best concern is the demand for sanitation, would you believe that during those years bread was either wrapped by hand with paper and string to slice it into pieces. And, that is why on early years that wrapping was introduced to make sure that breads were sealed until in 1914, a bread wrapping machine was invented by Henri Sevigne wherein breads could be wrapped and sealed in waxed paper (probably to keep the breads fresh and consumable for 48 hours).
Followed by the development of an automated slicers, it wasn't successful because some materials didn't worked out together until it was being fitted and firmly sliced wherein collapsible trays hold the sliced bread and being sliced through sterilized pins.
The 'So Good, I love Gardenia' Slogan
A true winner 'branding strategy' that when we always hear its jingles on radio, or seen its commercials on tv we always knew that it was from Gardenia, maker of the high quality breads we've seen in the Philippines.
Bromate Free, Minus Cholesterol, and Trans fats
A healthy treat from Gardenia, formulated and recommended by Department of Health. That is why we see assorted breads that is also fortified with vitamins and minerals.
Freshness - Gardenia's Trademark
I was surprised when I discovered how breads were being delivered and reach out several provinces in the south Philippines. As they said, we would want you to bring home fresh breads. Right after the production, delivery vans picked up the breads from the plant and bring it to various places. Also, at the same time, replacing the unsold breads and bringing it back to the plant for other consumption (we were told how they deal with unsold breads, and it was very informative). Aside from freshness, its practice made them recognized as the country's bread making industry.
G-Lock System
Have you noticed the colors of the bread licks you've brought? A unique strategy of Gardenia for easy tracking of their breads containing the when the bread was made, the best before date and the retail price. Also contains vital information on which production line the bread was produced from with its specific batch number. Making it more accurate and ensure the safety of the products to protect the consumers.
Recognitions
As one of the most reputable bread making industry in the Philippines, the company has also earned numerous recognitions and awards
Superbrands award, the Annual National Consumers’ Award (ANCA) as Outstanding Bread Manufacturer for five straight years. Moreover, Gardenia has been ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001:2000 certified and most recently, was upgraded to ISO 9001:2008, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certified since 2003 (HACCP accreditation is the consumer’s assurance that all Gardenia breads are safe to eat and is produced in a hygienic and pest-free environment.)
Discovering its distribution network
Today, Gardenia Bakeries Philippines has the largest distribution network in the baking industry covering the whole Luzon archipelago; eastern and western parts of Visayas which includes: Mindoro, Panay, the Negros islands, and Samar; and even as far away as Mindanao. It has reached Cagayan Province up to the farthest city of Tuguegarao in North-East Luzon; Laoag City in Ilocos Norte including Ilocos Sur and Abra in North-West Luzon; Dumaguete City in the Visayas; Negros and Maasin City in Leyte. Due to insistent public demand, Gardenia Bakeries Philippines has further expanded its operation by putting up another bread manufacturing plant in Lapu-Lapu City to serve Cebu, Bohol, as well as the northern parts of Mindanao covering Cagayan de Oro City, Butuan City, Gingoog City, Iligan City, Bukidnon and reaching as far away as Davao City. As if that weren’t enough, the company also makes use of its unique distribution system utilizing their new fleet of company-owned feeder and delivery vans, as well as the Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) nautical highway system.
Motivation is the key why Gardenia's success is unbeatable. Sustaining its goal and making the people believe that the breads they made are from high quality products, maintaining its freshness and enthusiasm to its people.

Lazy and play time
Lace's home baked banana muffin - baon ko last Thurs sa hotel
I’m home last Friday and I got tired and beaten up for going home on a rush hour Friday traffic-rainy madness and I rode a bus filled with commuters going to our town with a travel time of 3 hours, I’m glad that I survive standing inside the bus for those hours and carried 3 big bags - my gadget bag, my clothes bag, and a bag full of Gardenia breads. I tried to relax inside the bus but I forgot that I’m not wearing my Somnio running shoes that gives cushion to my legs and heels, I’m wearing my Nike sneakers that time for 3 days and then the horror started after arriving home. (more story below)
My legs and foot are tired and dead.
The hardest part is to recover and I can still feel the pain and tiredness of my limbs after 2 days, so I took a full rest and never go out and wait till I recover. I also had a great time playing and taking care of baby Ash while my wife rests for the weekend. Baby boy Ash is starting to be heavier and grows fast into a big boy and carrying him makes my legs and back in pain haahaha.
The lazyness this weekend kicks off with a great company of rain and cold breeze through out the day, yesterday me and my family played around the house and created our own indoor picnic right in our living room, we watch tv and then movies while chomping some tuna sandwich prepared by my wife and then we didn’t expected that we will be up late at night and baby Ash joined with us having another set of eating sessions, our evening snacks started with a hot coffee and some cakes, baby Ash have its own drinking water and its fun to see our food tray filled with our own mugs and plates.
Today my wife cooked spaghetti and we ate it for our lunch and this will be our merienda and dinner too, we have lots of Gardenia breads here and some mini cup cakes, we always get hungry every time we watch those FOOD SHOWS on cable tv, like in Pop Talk of GMA News, Street Smart of NGC, Pinoy Foodie and etc, its fun to watch those tv shows for food,it automatically inspires us to eat and also cook, and sympre appreciate any kinds of food.
that’s our weekend and I hope this will be experienced every day here at home.

photos and words by Emerson Sy for Azrael's Merryland blog
The 30 Seconds To Mars Concert Experience
It was a wonderful evening, though it rained so hard before the start of the concert, but this didn't let the fans of 30 Seconds to Mars to falter. So as the band.
When we arrived at the concert grounds at Trinoma, the rain started to pour down, and some of the fans were afraid that the concert might get cancelled due to the bad weather. As we looked upon the stage, the concert staffs are busy trying to wipe the water off stage so that the equipments won't be damaged and the concert can start. (MORE PHOTOS AND STORY BELOW)

The staff removed the musical equipments and clear the center stage after the Kjwan performed which made the fans scream to dismay, thinking that the show is cancelled. It was a good bluff, as the center stage is cleared, one equipment is unveiled and revealing it as a drum set. Jared asked one of the lucky fans on the stage what song they want him to play, The one of the fans requested for the song "The Kill." He also asked them what Tagalog word the fans would want to hear and one of the fans on stage whispered to him the word "Mahal" which he said aloud to the fans giving him another round of applause from the audience.
