So I'm back from a long-weekend spent in London with my makeup-addicted BFF's. It was fun, it was exhausting and we're now totally broke: in other words, it was a blast.
More detailed information on the makeup shopping will follow in the coming days when we are done sending each other pictures and editing them, but I thought I'd start by sharing a few things we liked.
Save your feet, use the Underground. There are stations everywhere and the one-day ticket is cheaper than 2 single tickets, so that's a no brainer. We got these and used the Tube as much as we could, let me tell you there was plenty of walking to be done anyway!
Also, the Tube stands quite deep in the ground, the stairs are just not an option (we climbed up the 193 stairs at Covent Garden station, that really wasn't the best idea), grab the elevators or escalators when you can!

Get a Shellac manicure, but do look at prices first! We had ours done in a little stand in a mall and paid £25 for color only or £35 for full manicure+color. Some fancy places were offering the same service for 55£ or more so definitely look before you make a decision. I'll report on how it works and how long it lasts :)
Eat noodles at Wagamama. We went to the Covent Garden and enjoyed fantastic noodle soups. It's great because you can sit, get served but at the same time it's not like an actual restaurant and you can move, there's kids walking around and quite a bit of noise - I loved the atmosphere and the food.
Go to Selfridges and get a makeover. My friends and I had our makeup done at the Illamasqua counter - which I will explain in detail in a single post.
I really liked Selfridges because there are a lot of brands available there and all the sales associate we dealt with were really friendly. If you don't have much time to shop for makeup, this is a good place for one-stop-shopping.
We love Pret! Prêt à Manger is everywhere (literally, there's one like every 100 feet), the food is good, quite healthy and not too expensive. We had breakfast and a small meal there several times, as we could enjoy salads, fresh fruit and nice sandwiches for about 5-7£/person/meal, that's pretty cheap for London.
Visit Westminster. It's beautiful and it's a place you need to see at least once in your life if you're in London.
Coming soon: detailed haul and Illamasqua makeovers!
