Rimmel, I Am Impressed

Rimmel is one of those cheaper brands that I lapped up when I was 16 with no money. I could get some awesome products for not very much money. Actually, the very first make up item I bought for myself was a Rimmel eye shadow duo. One side was beige and one was brown, both were metallic. Anyway, as I got older I had more money and got distracted by other things. I didn't give Rimmel much of a thought at all. In fact, the Rimmel tag on my blog consists of 2 mascara reviews and a matte top coat haul.

Then, while browsing in Boots I came across the Rimmel Pro nail polishes. There's quite a good range of colours available and they're less than £5.

This one is called Black Pearl and isn't so much black as a very deep, slightly shimmering charcoal. There are also tiny multicoloured shimmers throughout, but only if you catch it in bright light. The brush is wide and flat, which I think makes for an easier application. I also only needed 2 coats to get it fully opaque. Whether it's going to last "up to 10 days" as it says on the bottle, I doubt it. I manage to destroy nail polish in a couple of days at most.

And, yes. My cuticles are gross. That's what science does to your hands :)
