Let's talk serious stuff now: St Tropez is one of the leading brands in fake-tanning. So excellent results are legitimately expected.
What the brand says:
This super-lightweight, easy-to-apply, velvety mousse delivers the ultra-even all-over tan you’ve always wanted. Infused with conditioning aloe vera and long-lasting colour, you’ll have a perfectly natural looking, streak-free tan that dries in an instant. Our innovative Aromaguard™ fragrance technology eliminates the tell-tale self tan aroma by a minimum of 70% and instead gives a beautiful subtle, yet refreshing fragrance.
My opinion on it:
The product has a greyish browny color that makes application easy - with other mousses, I found it hard to see what I was doing since it was disappearing the moment it was touching my skin. So that's a good point.
Another good point is that this dries within a few minutes, so no need to walk around the house in your panties for half an hour for it to absorb into the skin. If you had to, you could probably put this on in the morning, as the color guide will already give you some color, and then the fake tan will develop within a few hours.
The result is very natural, olive toned and not orange at all. You can build up a more intense tan by using the product several days in a row but on me, one or two layers already make a huge difference since I am so pale.
However, this does smell like fake tan. Not hugely, but enough for me to prefer putting it on at night - there's no real residual smell the next morning so I won't feel self-conscious about people noticing the dreaded biscuit smell.
The price is high - USD 30, £31 (wrong conversion factor strikes again) but with 250ml you should be set for quite some time. The product can be used on both body and face (make sure you protect the hairline and brows with some moisturizer to make sure you don't end up with too much product there) so that saves you from the need to get another product, and I find mousse textures to be easy to apply on the face as you just need the tiniest amount and a little blending.
All in all an excellent product if you're not put off by the high price mark.
