Review: Wet n Wild Color Icon "Pride"

So, I know there are newer shinier things coming out from Wet n Wild these days but I haven't got them yet! I remember blogland went nuts over the Color Icon (do you know how wrong it feels to write "color" and not "colour"?) Holiday releases and with good reason, the one I have is really good. I will be getting as many of the new palettes as I can from Atlanta, but for now you'll have to enjoy the "old" palettes.

There is barely any Wet n Wild sold in the UK. Tesco has a tiny bit but it's really old stuff. These palettes were sent over by LiAnn of Sparklecrack Central for the sole reason of sharing make up love. I'm not sure of the price of these, I think it's going to vary slightly depending on where you buy them.

I was quite impressed that the palettes all came with a hygiene seal, at least you know that no one else has been poking at the shadows. On the back they have instructions for creating looks which I thought was a nice touch.

Pride is made up of greens, whites and blues. The colours in each column are very similar but the left side has a matte finish and the right side has a shimmer finish. The shadows are quite soft in texture and do fling up a little powder when you apply them so be careful about fall out.

The mattes are very smooth and pigmented. I am not a huge lover of mattes so I haven't used them that much. I have been using the white shade recently as a brow highlight for when I want the brightness of white but without the frosty finish of my other highlighters. I have to go very carefully as the white is so pigmented!! I've used the darker blue a few times for liner, but I've only used the green once or twice.

I love this side! As you can see, the colours in the two sides are very close, just with different finishes. The darker blue shade does need a good primer though as it will fade very slightly on me otherwise. The green in the middle is gorgeous as a lid shade with the blue in the crease.

This is a look I created just using shadows out of the palette. I applied these over Urban Decay Primer Potion and I get 6-8 hours wear before I get any creasing or fading.
-Green shimmer - over lid
-Deep blue shimmer - in crease
-White shimmer - inner corner highlight
-White matte - browbone highlight
-Deep blue matter - top liner & smudged under lower lashes
