It was a night of color black and no dandruff for the Clear Black Night Halloween Party at Taste Asia. Bloggers, celebrities, models, Ms. Earth beauties, Aliens, Robots, and masked men partied all night in one venue to celebrate the Hallows eve or we can call it the Halloween.
We arrived at 8:00pm and we saw some bloggers exiting the venue and told us that it was a mixed of bloggers and non bloggers, so in there we got a preview of what we are expecting, and because that in some past events, we used to have an exclusive event and party for bloggers, But I just removed that idea and place an open mind that this is now an open event, since everyone can get in and registration, filtering the non-registrant are not that strict, but as we enter the venue it was already jam packed and people are now dancing, eating and drinking. We got our names confirmed and we were given a Clear CD and a mask. I'm glad that me and Lace ate already in French Baker and got a time to chat and join with our blogger friends. And there are already many people lining up at the food station. I just waited till the beer bar open after a few minutes.
Bloggers are outside the venue at the cocktail area, while party people and foreigners are enjoying inside the dance area. It was like an offline plurk-a-thon for us, chatting and doing lots of offline discussions that are mainly posted in some online blogs or plurks, discussions of some issues, chismis and other funny stuff. We enjoyed staying with our fellow friends and bloggers and had a time to meet and introduce new friends to others. I just got 2 event gig that night and it was great to have a talk with my cool blogger networks.
Nice to meet everyone at the party, especially to all those who went and greeted me, I'm sorry that I'm having a hard time to recognize everyone, hehehe because its hard to identify the looks of each people behind those avatars, username and blog address. I'm glad that you approach me and introduce yourself, it will be great if you post here in my comment and remind me that we met at the party. I got surprised to receive a comment from a friend who I haven't seen for months and told me that I look more buff and muscular in look than getting fat today, maybe because of the black outfit and my Clear treated hair for a week hahaha. I feel sexy, we feel sexy and everyone is sexy that night in all black outfit glory.

The night went wild as the music booms up, everyone is not at the dance floor and I just went inside and party with friends and then later on I moved outside to chat again with other friends and new friends in the network. Many of us are still surprised to see the turn out of the party, much more different from the past events and this time we got to see and meet some Ms. Earth beauties, and I got a photo op with Ms. Earth-Canada, she is very nice and easy to connect in a conversation, I just told her that I'll be watching the pageant show on Monday and I'll be there in PAGCOR to do coverage and gave them a good luck note for their competition. Hope she can get the Ms. Friendship award on Monday for being friendly to us and easy to talk to during that busy night out, it was great moment of attraction for me, because I got into a conversation with beauty queens that evening. Also got a photo op with Ms. Earth-Philippines, we took a lot of photos with her, and since its easy to talk to a fellow kababayan, we told her that we hope she wins the competition. Others got a photo op with Ms.Earth-England and Greece. And wow! they are very tall.
There are also male and female models, I'm not sure if they are Brazilians or French. But a friend told me that they are French. And after my in and out of the venue moment, me and Lace decided to boot out of the party and go home at 11:30pm. Thanks to Aileen Apolo for making the invatation, Sire and company, Bloggers, Plurkers, TFPH boys, and many more.. ahahaha. I still have a hang over. and also thanks to Clear and Taste Asia.
Gosh, I didn't realize that so many more questions regarding dealing with divorced parents would come in... so this might go on for a few more days. We've been flooded with questions, and we'd love to help, so keep them coming!
Today we'll talk about receiving lines.
Problem:: "Both of my fiance's parents and my parents have divorced and then have remarried - there are just so many people to keep track up it will make you dizzy! Help me with who stands in the receiving line to greet guests?"
Solution:: Well, first, you don't have to do a receiving line, it does take up a bit of time, and as long as you calculate that into your timeline, and know that this will take away from photography time with your new husband and families, then you'll be good to go. Phew! Is that too long for you? It's okay to simply include your biological parents, or to forgot the tradition all together. Many couples perfer to visit each guest at their table and make some schedule mingle time after they are done eating to make the rounds and welcome their friends and families. Its' a much more intimate and informal way to thank all of your friends and family for attending.
Last night was the 1st mini web design conference, and I arrived very late that evening for the conference, but I’m still lucky to catch the last part of the talk and meet everyone who attended the event. The mini web design conference is a talk and learning ground for web designs and also a networking hub for anyone who want to connect with fellow web designers, programmers, developers, bloggers and freelancers. The event is made by young web developers for everyone and I’m happy that they decided to form this group and share their knowledge to us and the great thing is the entrance is free, although you need to register first so that you can be included in the guest list. I don’t have any formal training and don’t have any workshop experience in making websites, but in the span of my work for making websites, blogs and also other web stuff, and realized that I just learned everything from experiences and reading tutorials on the net. But having those tutorials in my hard drive didn’t make me learn and be an expert in the field, and then there is still a need to consult and ask for mentorship for enhancing your skills and knowledge in making websites.

The topic is all about Designs (color, typography, the grid), and the speakers are Rico Sta. Cruz (Grids), Marco Palinar (Interface design), Jojo Esposa (Philippine Laws Supporting Web Accessibility), Aja Lapus (Design & Web Standards), Rick Ong (CakePHP), Regnard Raquedan (Screen resolutions), Reynaldo Mendoza (Interaction design and usability), JP Dela Torre (Introduction to iPhone Site Development). The conference ended with Reynaldo Mendoza’s keynote, and I just had a talk with JP Del Torre and told me that he will be talking on the next conference due to lack of time and it was already getting late that evening. And then everyone who attended the conference made an introduction, getting to know each other on what field we are into. ( READ MORE BELOW )
The event is not just only about making websites; it is also about usability and design interaction to the web surfers or users. That’s one of my priorities in making pages, but since that I lack the style and creativity of making it, I do fill the sites a lot of information needed by the users. But everything is still not complete for me, and I still need to learn more. And I’m glad that the first mini web design conference is held and it was a success, the conference is for us who need to learn more and share some tips to others, it’s a great idea to make the industry more healthy and remove the concept of having a competition to one another.
I just catch Reynaldo Mendoza lecture about Interaction design and usability, and one of the greatest tip I got from him is to ask criticism and review from your friends. That’s the thing I need in making and having an opinion and constructive criticism will help you understand and study on the behavior of users. Its nice to see also my friends form the Jelly in Manila, blogging, plurkers, and from the art scene. The event is a blast! And I’m excited on the next conference, they say that if you want to talk and be a speaker, you can volunteer and get a schedule on the next event. Btw, this conference is in preparation for the big event “Philippine Web Design Conference” stated to be held on April 2009.
