Dreaming of Resort with Chanel Inattendu & Riva Le Vernis

This mani/pedi was from the weekend - right after Thanksgiving when I was dreaming of warm sandy beaches. Living in Southern California, I shouldn't complain, but I spent part of the extended weekend watching Chanel's Saint-Tropez Cruise 2010/2011 Fashion Show (yes, a few months late) and couldn't help but feel envious of the beautiful warm-looking weather. I immediately was inspired to make myself feel resort-like the only way I could by doing a Chanel cruise-inspired mani/pedi.

The inspiration from the fashion show, nude pink nails on the hands and blue on the toes. I know most breakdowns list Jade Rose on the fingers, but I decided to go with Inattendu instead for the hands. I stuck with the new Riva on the toes to mimic the models.

Mani/pedi both have 3 coats each:

Arroyo filed House Bill 1221 or the “Toy Safety Labeling Act of 2010”

interesting news! I hope that bootlegs will be banned and other toys that contains hazardous chemical that uses to paint or mold the toys. In my recent tv interview about toys, I mentioned that parents should be aware of this and also read the labels of packaging of the toy for contents and suitable for an age group.

MANILA, Philippines – Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is pushing for a measure that would standardize the labeling requirements for toys and games of children to protect them from potential hazards to health and safety.

Arroyo filed House Bill 1221 or the “Toy Safety Labeling Act of 2010” co-authored with her son Camarines Sur Rep. Diosdado Arroyo seeking to provide the requirements for special labeling of consumer products.

The former president said the measure seeks to protect the interest of children and promote their general welfare as a state policy.

Arroyo said the state shall provide safety and quality standards for consumer products by requiring that a consumer product for children be marked with or accompanied by clear safety warnings or instructions.

“A law that would protect children against hazards and safety and the provision of adequate rights and means of redress is imperative,” the younger Arroyo added.

Busy mode for the 1st day of December 2010, I got sick last night and slept early to recharge my body, I got sick the other day and maybe the flu went back after I got tired from a long trip yesterday. I was about to attend a museum tour this morning, but I decided to sleep and rest because my body is rejecting too much work already.

I'm having a photo shoot later at 1pm with the Coca Cola Live Positively bloggers ambassadors and later on I'll race against time to attend a Samsung x Forever 21 x Fashion bloggers event in SM Megamall, Lace will be there and will present some of her style design using Forever 21 clothes and accessories, I heard it will be a contest and hope she win. (sana Galaxy tab yung prize hehehe)

And I'm busy too in managing my phone, I got lots of txt and calls yesterday and I'm having a hard time to back track all those calls and txts, some of them are event invites and others are inquiries. I sent the invites to my bloggers network for the event and now I'm busy managing my schedules for this week. I'm really excited for this Saturday because someone sponsored our Christmas shopping, super happy talaga, will post a blog on Saturday night after our free shopping.

I'm going to blog later after attending this NomNom Club Christmas dinner at SM MOA.
grabe, I have 1 1/2 weeks of blog contents na delayed, bawi ako later.

Baby Ashton is showing lots of surprises, yesterday I was about to say good bye to him and then he raises his arms, looked at me with cutey eyes and wants to be hug and carry, awwww. Baby Ash is growing so fast and so happy to see him giggle and get excited whenever he saw me.

CND Effects: Sapphire Sparkle

2 coats of Sapphire Sparkle over (from L to R): Borghese Almondine,
OPI Mrs O'Leary's BBQ, China Glaze Flyin' High, OPI DS Mystery.
Hello readers! Another nail post today.
I've really fallen in love with Creative Nail Design's Effects polishes. A whole line of colored sparkles and shimmers to transform your polish? Sign me up, please!
Today I have Sapphire Sparkle to show you. Tiny flecks that shift from blue to magenta in a translucent base? I drool a little bit just thinking about it.
Now before we go any further, I will shamefully admit that I've neglected my cuticles lately. The irony is that I'm in nails right now at school... I spend so much time learning about nails and tending to other peoples' phalanges that mine have gone to crap.
I especially like how Sapphire Sparkle looks over Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ. That almost looks like Orly Galaxy Girl, but the sparkle is bluer with Sapphire.
Indoors, lightbox, no flash
And here's what my fingers looked like before the Sparkle Effects:

And of course, a picture of the bottle!

Look at all that delicious color shifting goodness.

CND Effect Sapphire Sparkle was pretty cheap too, $4.50 for a bottle (0.33oz) at CosmoProf. I'm not sure where else these are available in store, but the CND site has a store locater.

What do you think of this flashy, sparkly topcoat?

All products were purchased by me, with the exception of Borghese Almondine and OPI Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ which were gifted to me.

Doctors at Calmette Hospital met on Tuesday to discuss the evacuation of patients severely injured in last week’s deadly Diamond Island stampede to hospitals in neighbouring countries.
The meeting followed an announcement on Monday by Prime Minister Hun Sen that the government would pay evacuation and hospital costs for any patient requiring treatment not available locally.

Sok Khon, director of administration at Calmette, said that no patients had yet been evacuated, but that staff were preparing for that possibility.

“Our top doctors met on Tuesday and carefully checked the status of the victims to determine whether they need to be sent out of the country for further treatment,” he said.

Hun Sen said on Monday that any victim of the bridge stampede who had sustained injuries “beyond our ability to cure” would be sent abroad for treatment and that the government would be “responsible for local and international treatment”.

“We are discussing the matter in accordance with the prime minister’s announcement. We have not yet sent anyone, but are checking their condition,” Sok Khon said.

Som Sophorn, deputy director of Preah Ketomealea hospital, said on Tuesday that a 32-year-old patient being treated for a cerebral hemorrhage was transferred to Calmette Hospital in accordance with policy established by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

“The ministry has ordered that all seriously injured patients be sent to Calmette in order to be evaluated for possible evacuation,” he said.

Health Minister Mam Bunheng and Social Affairs Minister Ith Sam Heng were unavailable for comment.

SRP MPs ask Heng Samrin to set up a special committee for investigation to the death of stampede in Koh Pich Bridge on Nov. 22

Nov. 30, 2010: SRP MPs sent a letter to Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, request for create a special committee of NA for investigation to the death of stampede in Koh Pich Bridge on Nov. 22, 2010.

SRP Cabinet

What a Prime Minister we have!

What a Prime Minister we have!

Yesterday Hoon Xen had clearly said that no one to be blamed and punished from stampede accident that occurred on Monday last week in the country. In other word, he blamed the crowd themselves for this tragedy.

With this, he proves us right that his tear is a crocodile tear.

Our people and country deserve to have a better PM. He is not worth to lead us and our nation for he is just a Hanoi´s slave.

I hope you will act like a real strong man and RESIGN Mr. Hoon Xen!

November Favorites

Here we are already, the last month of the year is starting!
Now that Winter is really striking with all its glory (snow, icy roads, wind, sub-zero temperatures...) I've had to rely on my skincare items a lot to help my cheeks not getting all chapped! So a lot of comforting textures for this month!

La Roche Posay Cicaplast
A real miracle product, that repairs my dry skin within a few days and makes dry patches feel perfectly smooth under my makeup.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel hand cream and lip balm.
The most efficient products for restoring your skin during the night, nothing else works as good for me, and I love the orange and honey smell and taste of the lipbalm.

Chanel Tentation Cuivree eyeshadows.
Gorgeous colors that, despite their warmth, won't make you look sick in the blue and cold Winter light. I've been rocking a lot of coppery brown smokys this month, done either with the quad or with the liquid eyeshadow.

Pink cheeks and fushia lips
I'm generally all about peachy colors but this month I've really been wearing mostly pink colors on the cheeks and lips. Full Fushi and Lickable lipsticks by Mac, Mac Tippy beauty powder blush, Chanel Joue Contraste Pink Explosion and Ilamasqua cream blush in Promise have all been used a lot.

Nars Sheer Glow in Gobi.
I feel like a broken record mentioning this one, but hey, I just love it. It's perfect to make your skin flawless and slightly glowy on these dull days.

What were your November favorites?

A few pics from over the weekend with me & my best friend..

I got to see my best friend for many years a couple of times this week.. which was awesome because she lives like an hour away.. and we sometimes have conflicting schedules that can make it difficult to see each other at times. She is the one person that can change my mood instantly when I'm feeling down and she knows me better than anyone else. I started to think last week how different life would be if I didn't have her as my best friend.. I do believe in soul mates and I don't believe it has to restricted to your significant other. I believe a soul mate is someone that was written in the book of your life before you were born that you were meant to meet so that you will have someone that will always understand you, stand by you through everything and will feel your pain just as you do. Someone that you have a bond with deeper than the heart, because the heart is often unsure of it's feelings.. but a bond of the soul. I have no doubt in my mind that she is a soul mate of mine.

These pictures make me laugh :)

Review: Coastal Scents Camo Quad - Medium + Before/After Photos & Swatches!

Hey Guys! I have another Coastal Scents review for you guys. It's for their Camo Quad Concealer in the shade Medium. They have four different Camo Quads in the shades Light, Medium, Dark and Color Corrector. You can view all shades here.

Before ordering this quad, I made sure to look up swatches and read some reviews. I also watched a review video by one of my favorite youtubers, Lisaz09. You can click her username and it will take you directly to her review video. Anyway, the majority of the reviews seemed very positive so I thought I would give it a try.

Medium - Contains for shades. They don't have specific shade names or numbers. There is a White, Light Peach, Med. Beige and a Dark Pink Beige. Prior to receiving this quad in the mail I thought these colors were going to be more yellow toned because of all of the swatches I have seen. I would say they kind of look more like NW shades than NC shades. The Med. Beige shade looks a little bit like my NW25 concealer.. but less orangy. Which is absolutely fine because peachy & pinky shades seem to camouflage dark circles very well. Then, once my yellow toned foundation is applied over.. they should be completely covered.

I would say that my camera captured the color very accurately in both the quad by itself and the swatches (it may depend on your computer, because not every computer will obviously capture color the same way).

Swatched on my hand from darkest to lightest. (no flash in either photo)

This was a small test I did on my wrist to see the amount of pigmentation in the concealer. I just used my finger and dabbed it on my wrist and my vein was almost completely camouflaged. The only way I could barely see it, is if I would move my wrist back and forth in the light. I would say it was covered a good 90-95%.

My Review: For me, I would say the coverage of this concealer is a full medium coverage. I wouldn't necessarily call it a full coverage. Only because it is not 100% opaque. Depending on the color and severity of your dark circles, this may be full coverage for you. The consistency is a little dry - many have said it's hard to blend and it is difficult to get the product out. It's not exactly like MAC Studio Finish, nor is it exactly like NARS (dry textured, velvety texture).. It's somewhat in between the two. Some have suggested plugging in a blow drier on low heat and blowing it directly on the quad for a few seconds. I wouldn't exactly say its difficult to get a good amount of product on my finger, but because it is not a very soft creamy.. it may take a few swipes of your finger. I found that using your finger to rub the shade slowly around in a circle will warm it up and make it much easier to get more product. Also, it was much easier to pick up product using a concealer brush (I used my MAC 194 brush). The texture seemed much creamier when I used the brush. I think once you get past the top layer of freshness (or whatever you may call it) the texture will be better. I always moisturize under my eyes prior to application of creme concealers to make sure it won't cake or look ashy. For lighter coverage, I will pat the shade I'd like to use and gently rub it under my eyes back and forth until it's blended. For a more full coverage, I have used my concealer brush and dabbed it on the area and finished off blending it with my fingertip by gently patting the area & I have also used only my finger by rubbing the product to warm up on my finger so more product will adhere to my finger and again, pat it under my eyes until it is blended and repeat if necessary. I like to use the Med. Beige shade and then use the Light Peach a little bit over it. Sometimes, I like to mix both together. I have used the darkest shade to contour the hollows of my cheeks and it worked pretty well.. and I have used the white to highlight the highest point of my cheekbone (all prior to the application of my foundation of course).

Here's a quick look at my under eyes with the concealer and without. I had used my method of patting the concealer under my eyes and repeating for a fuller coverage.
I'll have an update.. maybe in a week or so to let you know how well I'm liking it.

Do you own a Camo Quad? What are your thoughts about it?
