World Of Fun's Videoke Idol Search Grand Finals

After a series of screenings and eliminations, 10 contestants per category from all over the country will compete in World of Fun’s (WOF) Videoke Next Level, 2010 Edition finale on July 31, 2010 at Sta. Lucia Mall in Cainta, Rizal.

Contestants from all over the country will now compete for the much coveted Videoke Next Level, 2010 Edition Grand Champion award, with prizes as much as P25,000 cash for the Senior Category, P20,000 for Youth Category, and P15,000 for Kids Category. Aside from the cash prize, gifts from WOF and event sponsors also await the winners.

Winner of the Online Voters’ Choice Award will also be announced, this award is based on the accumulated votes garnered by the contestant through the online voting poll in the Videoke Next Level, 2010 Edition Friendster page.

Out of almost 2000 contestants registered for all categories, 200 contestants competed in the 3rd elimination and only 30 finalists from Metro Manila, South, Central and North Luzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas and Mindanao were selected to join the grand finals. Finalists will prepare three songs in different genres to perform during the finals namely Contemporary Pop, Fast, and Slow Songs.

In NCR alone 60 participants joined the Elimination 3, four contestants per category stood out during the semi-finals for NCR Division last July 17, 2010 at SM City San Lazaro. Qualifiers who won for the Kids Category were Keith Princess Jover, Shiella Mae Nueva, Mariella Rondina, and Kheene Salas. While for the Youth Category: Alyssa Quijano, Ser Franco De Asis, Claire Borja, and Jennylyn Presillas emerged as as finalist representing Metro Manila. Jake Christian Portugal, Rudell Ramirez, Aljon Agoncillo, and John Leonard Punzalan, are the NCR representatives to the Senior Category in the grand finals.

Last July 10, 2010, official finalists who will represent the North and Central Luzon were determined as WOF held its Videoke Next Level, 2010 Edition Elimination 3 at SM City Baliwag. Louie Anne Culala will represent the kids’ category, Lecelle Trinidad for youth category and Harriz Battung for senior category. Alongside with this, same event was held at SM City Naga who named the Bicol Region representatives who happened to be Louie Adrian Galon for kids’ category, Mary Glor Misal for youth category and Roman Estilito for senior category.

Western Visayas also hailed their official Videoke Next Level, 2010 Edition representatives last July 10, 2010 at Robinsons Bacolod. Lucky qualifiers who will go to the battle of vocal chords were Rhonsben Jonota for kids category, Meryll Reodava for youth category and Vincent Capuyong who happened to be the same Videoke Idol representative of Western Visayas last Videoke Next Level, 2009 competition.

South Luzon finalist were named last July 11, 2010 at SM City Lipa and they were Jomari Mores, kids category; Larry John Mercado, youth category and Lorenzo Enriquez for senior category.

While Metro Manila was having its semi-finals last July 17, 2010, two other cities were also doing the same event, Cebu City and General Santos City. Cebuanos representatives were named at SM City Cebu and they were Knch Lhnn Cabillo for Kids, Gay Nagrama for youth and Kris Jordan Seville for senior categories.

The Tuna Capital of the Philippines was also graced with the following Videoke Idol, 2010 finalists. They were Enrique Pespiñan Jr. for kids’ category, Janine Marie Sacay for youth category and Ryan Roy Obedoza for senior category.

WOF Videoke Idol Search has been the home of young and talented Filipinos since its start in 2006. One of their most successful winners was last year’s Kids Category Grand Champion, Jude Matthew Servilla from Bacolod City. His winning piece was “Stand Up for Love” by Destiny’s Child. After winning the Videoke Idol, Servilla joined noon-time show, Eat Bulaga’s Birit Baby contest. His heartfelt rendition of Wency Cornejo’s “Hanggang” gave him the grand prize and became the contest’s grand champion.
